Melamchigaon School Hostel Building
In October of 2008 33 members of West Yorkshire Scouts travelled to Nepal to build a hostel at the School at Melamchigaon. This followed constructing a very similar building at the County Campsite and Activity Centre at Bradley Wood.
The team raised over £10,000 to fund the project and worked with the local village community to build this much needed facility.
Project Nepal is an exciting project involving 35 adult members of West Yorkshire Scouts.  The project will see them train in the UK and then travel to Nepal in November 2010 to build a four room  classroom  in Purano Dewar in the Lamjung District of Nepal
The project is divided into 2 components:
The TRAINING  - This will take place at Bradley Wood Scout Campsite and Activity Centre and will prepare everyone in the skills and knowledge required   more >
The TRIP  this will involve  2 or 3 weeks in Nepal in November 2010  working in partnership with the village. more >
West Yorkshire Scouts are working in partnership with the charity “Community Action Nepal” the well respected charity founded by mountaineer Doug Scott CBE.  more >

November 29th  - WYS On Show supports Project Nepal.  With the donations from the audience and Steve selling badges and puddings over £1260 was gained to support the project
October 2009 -  Training dates  now confirmed.
February 15th - Flights confirmed 35 People are now confirmed as taking part in Project Nepal 2. 22 members will travel out for three weeks on Friday 5th November. The  members taking the two week option will follow one week later.  The team returns on Sunday November 28th.
